FACC Wings for Women: Empowerment on the Eve of International Women's Day

The women's network FACC Wings for Women hosted the 1st FACC Wings for Women Summit at the FACC Technology Centre in St. Martin on 7 March to mark International Women’s Day. Around 80 participants showed great interest in this new format.

FACC Wings for Women has set itself the goal of promoting diversity within FACC and empowering women in their personal and professional development in the company. As part of the 1st FACC Wings for Women Summit in honor of International Women's Day, FACC invited all female employees to participate in workshops that aimed to instill self-confidence and, above all, provide important input on how to be successful in their careers. In addition to a practical workshop on self-defense through boxing, stress management strategies in everyday life and stimuli for achieving financial independence, the focus was also on methods for pursuing personal career paths with determination.

"We want to offer women a platform where they can continue their individual education and in so doing further their personal and professional development. With the FACC Wings for Women Summit, which was organized for the first time, we have developed a new format that enables us to provide targeted stimuli and offer the exact support that is needed," emphasizes Sabine Lenzbauer, President of the network. The courses on offer were developed in consultation with the workforce and they also reflect the great interest that the network has generated at FACC within a very short space of time.

Generational shift as a career boost

Following the afternoon workshops, the company hosted a public evening event. After a keynote speech by Anke van Beekhuis on the impending generational shift and a panel discussion, attention turned to networking. Guest of honor of the event was Beate Zechmeister (Head of the Upper Austrian Department for Women’s Affairs). Free childcare was provided for the duration of the workshops and the evening event.
